Fairfield University Athletics

2021 Season: Gianna Cugino secured three appearances during the season, all of which came against NEC opponents. She opened her collegiate career with time in the Sacred Heart game on October 10 before closing out the campaign with time on the pitch against Saint Francis and Merrimack. She registered one attempt throughout her time on the pitch, gaining one shot that was on goal during the Saint Francis game. She capped her season as a member of the NFHCA National Academic Squad.

Before Fairfield: Cugino came to Fairfield University following her successful career at Henderson High School where she contributed as a forward for the field hockey team. While at Henderson, the forward secured a spot on the All-Chesmont Team. She also gained experience with USA Field Hockey, serving as the top goal scorer in the Junior Premier Outdoor League Region 5 in 2019 and participating in Regional Club Championship play. She also played club field hockey with Mainline Mayhem.
