All eight of those starts came consecutively, beginning with the final non-conference game against Hartford through the MAAC slate. He picked up two goals and an assist during the 2021 campaign, all coming over three straight appearances. The run began with a game-winning goal against Iona on October 16 and added an assist in the regular-season finale against at Rider. He ended the stretch with a goal against Niagara in the MAAC Tournament. 2020-21: Santiago Gonzalez was a regular in the Stags lineup with seven appearances during the 2020-21 season. He missed the Rider game but returned to the lineup on the team’s next date. He earned five starts during the campaign, receiving the nod against Canisius, Quinnipiac, Manhattan, Saint Peter’s, and Quinnipiac (MAAC Championship). Gonzalez took four shots with one of those attempts being on goal. 2019: Gonzalez earned time in all 17 games in 2019 with nine matches listed as a starter. He started seven straight games beginning with the Stony Brook match on September 7 and carried through the Saint Peter’s match on October 5. He picked up three goals during his freshman season, all coming over a four-game period. He netted the tying goal in a 2-1 win over Niagara, the team's first goal in a 5-0 shutout at Canisius, and the Stags' initial score in a 2-1 decision over Iona. He took 17 shots during the season, 10 of which forced the opposing goalkeeper to make a save.
