Biography

2021-22: Preseason All-MAAC Third Team...Appeared in 31 games with 24 starts…Ranked third on the team with 9.5 points per game…Buried a team-best 60 three-pointers, shooting 34.5 percent from distance…Also brought in 3.4 rebounds per game and had a team-leading 31 steals…Scored 12 points in the season opener at Providence, including a pair of three-pointers...Scored 13 points with three three-pointers in his 10 minutes of work against Medgar Evers…Poured in 14 points, fueled by a pair of three-pointers and a 4-for-4 showing at the line down the stretch to ice the Nov. 20 win at Sacred Heart...Led the way with 24 points in the overtime win over Stony Brook...Scored seven points and shared the team high with five rebounds in the win at Niagara...Netted nine points and up the stat sheet with three assists and four steals in the win at William & Mary...Reached double figures with 11 points in the win at Fairleigh Dickinson...Netted 11 points against Wagner...Scored a team-high 14 points against Marist...Drained a career-high eight three-pointers for 24 points against Iona...Knocked down four three-pointers at Quinnipiac...Stayed hot with five three-pointers on 10 attempts for a team-best 15 points against Monmouth...Led the team again with 17 points in the win at Marist...Scored 20 points with a career-high eight boards at Rider.

2020-21: Jake Wojcik made his first appearance for the Stags on December 18 against Niagara University and responded with an 11-point performance, the first of 18 double-digit games for the guard. He finished fourth in the MAAC for free throw percentage, netting 85.4 percent from the line (76 of 89). He connected on eight or more free throws in three games, highlighted by his 8 for 8 game against Iona in the MAAC Tournament Championship game as well as a 10 for 10 effort against Manhattan in the season finale. He led the team in scoring eight times which included his season and Fairfield high of 33 points at Manhattan on March 5. The guard was also one of the team’s top three-point shooters with 39 baskets from long range, netting three or more from beyond the arc against Niagara (3 – December 18), Quinnipiac (3 – February 7), Saint Peter’s (3 – February 13), Saint Peter’s (3 – February 14), Manhattan (5 – March 5), and Manhattan (3 – March 9). He also worked well as one of the team’s play makers, dishing off 40 assists in 21 games which was second on the team (1.9 per game).


Before Fairfield
Jake Wojcik, a 6-4, 190-pound guard, came to Fairfield after spending his first two seasons at the University of Richmond where he appeared in 64 games. In his first season at Richmond, the guard started 33 games which was the second most by a freshman in school history. He placed fifth on the team in scoring with 7.7 points per game and fourth in rebounding with 3.5 rebounds every forty minutes. He showed his long-range shooting ability with 65 three pointers in 2018-19, shooting 36.3 percent from long range. As a sophomore, he appeared in all 31 games and averaged 3.3 points per game. Wojcik led the team in free throw shooting with his .905 percentage, netting 19 of 21 attempts during the year. Wojcik enjoyed success at the scholastic level as well, earning two West Coast Athletic League Player of the Year awards as a member of the Bellarmine College Prep basketball team. Wojcik averaged 17 points per game as a senior which helped Bellarmine win its second straight league title. Wojcik was named an All-State honorable mention selection and earned All-Metro (San Francisco Chronicle) and All-Area (Bay State News Group).
