Biography
Off the Field: Honovich is a Biology major. He earned 3.0 Club membership in the Spring 2012 semester.
2014: Appeared in 14 games on defense … Notched nine ground balls and six caused turnovers … Had a goal in the ECAC Championship semifinal win over Michigan … Had two ground balls in win over Ohio State … Had two caused turnovers and a ground ball against Holy Cross … Had two ground balls against Manhattan.
2013: Honovich saw action in all 15 games the Stags played during his junior season and finished with a career-best five caused turnovers. The midfielder also had his first career assist, in the win over Quinnipiac, and picked up nine ground balls. Honovich had two ground balls in the wins over Hobart and Air Force, and again at Ohio State in the regular season finale. He caused turnovers in five different games, all in the final nine games of the season.
2012: Honovich played in 15 games, all as a reserve, during his sophomore campaign. He scored his lone goal of the campaign in the regular season game versus Loyola. Honovich finished the year with a career-best 14 ground balls and caused the first four turnovers of his time at Fairfield. He had four multi-ground ball games during the year. Honovich’s first career caused turnover came in the win at Vermont, with all four of his caused turnovers coming in a six-game stretch.
2011: Honovich appeared in 11 games during his rookie season and received a starting assignment in three of those contests. He collegiate debut and first start came in the Stags season opener versus Lafayette as he recorded a season-best three ground balls. In game two of the season Honovich netted his first career goal and five days later tallied his first collegiate game-winner versus Quinnipiac. He picked up three ground balls in that game as well, starting a three-game stretch in which he recorded seven ground balls. Honovich finished the season with four goals, scoring three in the first five games of the campaign.
High School: Honovich earned three varsity letters at Waltar Panas High School. As a senior captain, he led the team to an 18-3 mark and earned U.S. Lacrosse All-America accolades. Honovich also lettered in football at Panas.
Personal: Son of Cynthia Honovich. He has three brothers, including Billy, who played lacrosse at Fairfield, and a sister.
