Biography

2021 Season: Zoe Rosen started all 22 games for the Stags which led her to another impressive season between the posts. The graduate student secured 106 saves including four double-digit efforts which led her to a .797 save percentage. She posted a season-best 16 saves in the regular-season finale, a 1-0 win against Vermont on the road. She finished eighth nationally in save percentage and also ranked 13th in goals against average (1.22) as well as 30th nationally with 4.82 saves per contest. Under her guidance, the Stags finished seventh in the country for shutouts per game with a 0.36 mark. At season’s end, Rosen collected a spot on the NFHCA All-Mideast Region team as well as a berth on the organization’s National Academic Squad.

2020-21 Season: Rosen placed second in the nation for goals against average in 2020-21, allowing 0.56 goals per game. She was also ranked in save percentage as her .826 mark was sixth in the country after making 19 saves against her four goals allowed. The goalkeeper registered four or more saves in three games including a season-best five stops in a 1-0 win over Albany in the season opener. She also posted four saves in back-to-back games against LIU and Rider. She posted four shutouts during the campaign, keeping Albany,  Bryant, and Sacred Heart twice off the scoreboard.

2019 Season: Rosen was selected to the All-NEC second team by vote of the conference coaches. She played all but 21 minutes in the Fairfield goal during the 2019 season, starting all 22 games for the Stags. She finished the season with a 1.18 goals against average which placed her 14th in the nation. The goalkeeper also earned the number 16 spot for save percentage, posting a .750 mark with 78 saves against 26 goals allowed in just over 1300 minutes played. She was a three-time NEC Defensive Player of the Week, the first coming after she averaged 10.5 saves in a 1-1 opening week. She tallied a season-best 14 saves in the win over nationally-ranked Boston College as part of the weekly award. Rosen made five saves or more in eight games which helped her average 3.5 saves per game.

2018 Season: Rosen continued to serve the team as the starting goalkeeper, seeing action in 19 of the team’s 21 games. She logged 1201 minutes in between the posts and ended the campaign with an impressive 1.05 goals against average with a .769 save percentage. Rosen made six or more saves in three games, highlighted by her season-best nine saves against Boston College. She also secured eight saves in a win over Temple and six more stops in the Providence match. Rosen earned six shutouts including back to back wins against Hofstra and UMass Lowell, a feat which she equaled in a 4-0 decision over LIU Brooklyn and a 1-0 MAAC semifinal victory against Rider.

2017: Played in six games, starting four in between the pipes. Made 33 saves and tallied one shutout while recording a .635 save percentage.

Before Fairfield: Zoe Rosen was member of the National Honors Society and a four-year starting goalkeeper on the Monroe Township High School field hockey team.  She was named Greater Middlesex Conference Defensive Player of the Year in her junior season and led her team to a pair of Greater Middlesex Conference Championships.  She played club for the WC Eagles where she helped win three NIT Championships.  She intends to focus her studies on accounting when she arrives this fall.
