Biography
2018-19: MAAC All-Academic Team…The emotional leader of the Stags also became the most improved player on the team enjoying a breakout senior season that saw her start all 31 games while finishing second in the conference with 34.9 minutes per game…Ranked third in the MAAC with a career-high 125 assists…Swiped the second most steals in the conference with 68…Ranked fourth in the MAAC with a team-high .373 3-point shooting percentage…Also finished third with a 1.4 assist-to-turnover ratio…Poured in double digits in scoring in five-straight games (12/2 – 12/20)…Collected a career-high 19 points on 5-for-12 shooting from deep against Monmouth (2/3)…Shot .625 (10-for-16) from long-range in the MAAC Championships while tying her season-high with eight assists against Niagara (3/7)…Became just the third Stag ever to reach 250 career assists, 250 steals, and 100 made 3-pointers…Finished sixth in the MAAC with a career-high 69 3-point field goals made.
2017-18: MAAC All-Academic Team…One of the team’s intense and emotional leader showed her improvement on the court by setting career-highs in: points (6.2), rebounds (3.8), steals (59), blocks (10), free throws (32), 3-pointers (36), and field goals (59)…Was one of only two Stags to start in all 30 games…Showed her true presence with her hard-nosed defense that led to 22 steals over the last five games…Picked up eight steals in the loss at Monmouth, accounting for the most takeaways in a game for the Stags since 2001 which was also the fourth-highest single game total in program history (2/23)…Also had six steals at Saint Peter’s (2/19)…Had her best offensive showing against Saint Peter’s as she poured in a career-high 17 points on 4-for-7 shooting (1/15). That game highlighted a two-game stretch where she shot 7-for-12 from deep…Filled out the box score against Niagara with 14 points and four steals, with two coming in overtime to seal the win. Also buried all six of her free throws, including a pair to tie up the game in the final minute (1/2)…Also helped orchestrate the offense by dishing out seven assists in three games with a season-high eight against Monmouth (1/5).
2016-17: MAAC All-Academic Team…The energetic guard for the Stags started in 28 of her 31 appearances… Led the conference in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.1), a number that was 55th in the country… Led the team in assists (3.2 per game) despite being in the shooting guard position…Was one of the Stags leaders on the defensive end with her quick hands leading to 41 steals…Recorded a steal in 14-straight games where she averaged 2.1 per contest (12/10-2/23)…Netted a season-high nine points at UMass Lowell (11/17)…Twenty four of her 34 made baskets were from behind the arc.
2015-16: The energetic guard added a spark off the bench in 30 games for the Stags and averaged 6.5 minutes per contest…Connected on the first two shots of her collegiate career with 3-pointers against La Salle (11/13) and Loyola (11/18)…Showed her defensive intensity by swiping three steals, including back-to-back takeaways, against eventual Big East Champions St. John’s in a career-high 22 minutes (12/22)… Benefited from more minutes towards the end of the season by tallying 13 points in 43 minutes during the final four games of the season (2/24 – 3/17)…Team was 5-3 when she hit a 3-pointer after winning the first four games after the rookie connected on a long range shot…Shot 36 percent (9-for-25) from deep in her first season as a Stag.
BEFORE FAIRFIELD: A guard out of Ardsley, N.Y., Foley made her name from behind the arc, coming off one of the most successful seasons of her career being named the Class B Player of the Year by the New York State Sportswriters Association. Foley became the third-straight Stag recruit to garner the prestigious award (Kristen McLaughlin and Christa Scognamiglio). During that season, Foley stepped up when her team needed her the most, pouring in 22 points to bring the Panthers into the Class B finals. Foley scored most of her points in that contest due to the defensive pressure that she put on No. 3 Westlake, holding the Wildcats to 39 points. The two-year team captain was selected an All-League honor three times, named to the All-Section squad twice, and was on the All-State team during her senior year...Foley was one of the best athletes in the area, also competing on the volleyball and softball teams while at Ardsley. Foley led her volleyball squad as an outside hitter to an undefeated 22-0 regular season in 2013 and a spot in the Class B Championship game.
PERSONAL: Foley was born on September 30, 1997...Parents are Jackie and Tommy...Father Tommy played basketball at Iona College during the first year of the MAAC and scored the game winning layup against Fairfield in the fifth overtime of a 102-100 win on Feb. 22, 1982...Has two siblings Tommy and Kristen... Major is Finance...Minor is Spanish.
