Biography
2019: MAAC All-Academic Team…Came off the bench for the first time in her career in four matches while making 13 starts…Transitioned to the midfield after spending three seasons on defense and tallied two goals…Both of those scores came on Senior Night against Iona (10/23)…Started the last seven games of the season.
2018: MAAC All-Academic Team…The team tri-captain appeared and started 16 matches in her junior season…Netted a goal at NJIT (8/26).
2017: MAAC All-Academic Team…Started all 15 matches she appeared in Fairfield’s back line, playing 90 or more minutes in each…Recorded an assist at home against Iona (9/20)…Took 10 shots with two on target.
2016: MAAC All-Rookie Team…Emerged as one of the most promising freshman defenders in the conference, starting all 18 games as a rookie…Became a force as a center back, helping the Stags to four shutouts…Used her length on the offensive front, heading in a goal in back-to-back games at Quinnipiac (9/28) and the game-winner at Iona (10/1)…Was also used as the throw-in creator for the Stags…Showed her durability by playing in 90 or more minutes in 14 matches.
BEFORE FAIRFIELD: A 6-1 defender who helped lead Massapequa to three-straight state titles, the only Massapequa class to accomplish that, and only the fourth program from Long Island... She played a central role in the historic run, winning the NY State Tournament MVP... She also helped the Chiefs qualify for the state tournament with two goals in a span of 75-seconds in a 3-0 victory over West Islip in the Class AA Southeast Regional in 2016... For her efforts, she was named to Newsday’s All-Long Island Team, while also earning All-State and All-County recognition... The soccer pitch isn’t the only place where Hingher shows her defense prowess, the 6-1 athlete is also a lockdown defender for Massapequa’s basketball team, taking home All-Long Island, All-County, and All-State honors.
PERSONAL: The daughter of John and Sue Hingher...Was born on May 21, 1998...Mother Sue played soccer for MAAC rival Siena...Has two siblings: Katie and Elisabeth...Major is Marketing with a minor in Sports Management and Leadership.
