Biography
2016: All-MAAC First Team… MAAC All-Championship Team… As a senior and captain she started 20 games in cage for Fairfield. Bennett posted a 2.34 goals against average, 116 saves, and a .703 save percentage. Bennett was named the MAAC Defensive Player of the Week twice during the season. She finishes her career having played the third most games among all Fairfield goalkeepers with 71 games and the second most wins with 32. She also posted a .451 winning percentage in her four years along with 377 total saves and five shutouts, all ranking in the Top Five in program history.
2015: MAAC All-Championship Team...Bennett started 18 games in cage for Fairfield this season. In her third year as a starter she posted an 8-10 overall record with two shutouts. The junior had 99 saves and a 2.80 goals against average. Her five save shutout in the MAAC Championship game is what propelled the team to the NCAA Tournament. Bennett was named the MAAC Defensive Player of the Week twice this season.
2014: Bennett served as the starting goalkeeper for the Stags. The sophomore was tasked with keeping the ball out of the net in 15 out of 19 contests, with 13 starts, playing a total 893:51 minutes. Bennett finished the season tallying 74 saves, with a save percentage of .725, and a GAA of 2.19.
2013: Bennett served as the starting goalkeeper for the Stags. After an impressive freshman campaign, she topped Fairfield’s single season goalkeeping records for winning percentage (.647) and ranked second for wins (11). The rookie was tasked with keeping the ball out of the net in all 18 contests, playing a total 1316:58 minutes. Bennett finished the season tallying 88 saves, with a save percentage of .652, and a GAA of 3.21. She posted two shutouts on the year, the first against Siena on September 22 followed by conference foe UMass-Lowell on October 20.
Before Fairfield: Bennett played for Lauralton Hall where she totaled only 14 career goals allowed. In her senior campaign, she tallied only seven goals allowed. She currently holds the school record for fewest goals allowed and saves in a game (27). Bennett was named two-time New Haven Register All-Area, All South West Conference, a Connecticut Post All Star, and a 2012 State MVP Class S. She was an All-State First Team selection and 2013 Lauralton Hall Athlete of the Year. She led her team to two Patriot Division Championship titles and a South West Conference Championship titles as a senior. Bennett also played two club seasons for Competitive Edge.
