2012: Appeared in 18 games with four starts  in first season as a Stag … Posted a 5.61 ERA with 20 strikeouts in 33.2 innings … Made first collegiate appearance against LIU, striking out three batters and scattering two hits in 2.2 innings of relief … Made first collegiate start against Akron, going 5.0 innings, scattering two run on five walks while striking out six batters in the no-decision … Threw 2.2 scoreless and hitless innings of relief against Fordham … Did not allow a run in four appearances between April 28 and May 12 … Posted first collegiate victory in final regular season game against Marist, after tossing a scoreless inning of relief.

High School:  Three year letterwinner at Colonie High School ... Earned the Times Union Athlete of the Year award and picked as a pre-season All-American his senior season…  A two-time Times Union All-Area first team selection… A two-time first team All-Area Troy Record and All-State Team Selection… During final season, had five homers and a 403 batting average with 30 RBI’s… Went 8-0 as a pitcher in his senior year with a 1.83 ERA, 68 strikeouts and 20 walks… Holds school records for most wins (career-21 and season-8), Homers in a game (3), and doubles… Picked as Colonie's Most Valuable Pitcher in 2009, 2010, and 2011…  Helped team to a Suburban Council Championship his junior and senior years… Two-time Team Captain …Caba National World Series Most Valuable Pitcher 2011… Also played varsity football for one season…  A member of the National Honor Society.

Personal:  Son of Jim and Mary Kalica… Has one sister… Major is Pre-Med/Psychology.
