FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Volleyball wraps up its current road swing with one of the shortest campus-to-campus trips in all of Division I when the Stags visit Sacred Heart on Tuesday, Sept. 29. First serve from the Pitt Center is set for 7 p.m.
 
News and Notes

• After taking both ends of the Western New York trip, Fairfield and Sacred Heart are two of four 2-0 teams in the Metro Conference.
• Iona hosted and defeated Quinnipiac and Merrimack this past weekend, while Marist traveled to New Jersey to pick up wins over Rider and Saint Peter's.

 
Fairfield University Stags (8-5, 2-0 Metro)

• The Stags picked up a pair of 3-1 wins on the Buffalo trip to start the Metro season at 2-0.
• Mamie Krubally hit .468 on the right side, leading the Stags with 3.13 kills per set.
• Zofia Sykut ran the attack to a league-best .311 hitting percentage for the weekend, doling out 10.38 assists per stanza.
• On the season, Emma Bortolotti and Krubally pace the offense with 2.69 and 2.62 kills per set, respectively. Krubally's .320 hitting percentage is good for fifth in the conference.
• Harlan Wyche continues to lead the Metro in blocks, putting down 1.34 per frame.
• As a team, the Stags lead the Metro with a .244 hitting percentage and rank third with teams hitting .188 against them.

 
Sacred Heart University Pioneers (9-5, 2-0 Metro)

• Sacred Heart swept Canisius and played four frames with Niagara on their way to a 2-0 trip to Western New York.
• Lauren Hubert and Abbie Hagedorn have led the SHU attack with 3.69 and 3.43 kills per set, respectively.
• Hagedorn also leads the Metro and ranks second in the nation with 0.78 service aces per set (36 total).
• Addy Franz runs the offense en route to 8.63 assists per set.
• All-conference libero Miliani Villareal ranks second in the Metro this fall with 4.30 digs per set.
• The Pioneers are hitting .184, which ranks fourth in the Metro. SHU boasts the stingiest defense in the conference with a league-low .188 opponent hitting percentage.

 
Matchup Notes

• Fairfield and SHU played three common opponents in the non-conference slate with two common results as both squads were swept by Harvard and earned a 3-1 win over CCSU.
• The deviation comes against Army West Point; Fairfield swept the Black Knights while the Pios lost to Army, 3-1.
• Fairfield leads the all-time series, 17-5, and has won five consecutive meetings with the Pioneers.
