EDISON, N.J. – After leading the back row for Fairfield University Volleyball this past weekend,
Katelyn Cook has been named the Metro Conference Libero of the Week. Cook posted 4.57 digs per set in a 1-1 week for the Stags.
Cook donned the libero jersey for all seven sets of Fairfield's weekend at the Hofstra Invitational. In Friday's 3-0 of Army West Point, Cook recorded 15 digs with two assists and a service aces. She followed up on Saturday with 17 digs and four assists in the four-set match with Liberty.
The weekly honor is the first for Cook, who headed the libero spot this week after previous appearing as a pin hitter and defensive specialist. Overall, Cook has recorded 26 kills, 68 digs (2.27/set) and eight service aces in 30 sets of action this fall.
Fairfield opens the home slate and concludes non-conference play this weekend at Leo D. Mahoney Arena. The Stags will play three matches in three days from Sept. 17-19 as they host Central Connecticut State, Brown, and Middle Tennessee for the Fairfield Invitational.
Admission is free for all fans to all Fairfield Volleyball home matches this season.
