FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Baseball team launched three three-run homers in the first four innings leading to a 13-11 victory over New Haven in the final home at Don and Chris Cook Field for the 2026 season. Matthew Bucciero, Ryan Paine, and Jake Haarde all crushed three-run shots early in the game as the Stags plated 13 during the first four frames.

Bucciero brought in the first three after TJ Schmalzle and Nolan Colby started the game with back-to-back singles. Dom Camera capped the scoring with a sacrifice fly to center.

Luke Spencer put the score at 5-0 with a sacrifice fly to right in the third which would be followed by the first career long ball by Paine as he brought a 1-2 pitch the other way.

Haarde would also knock a three-run long ball in the fourth with the Stags scoring five in the frame to go along with a Schmalzle two-run double.
