Fairfield Men's Lacrosse opens a three-game homestand with a Saturday, March 7 visit from Yale. Opening faceoff from Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium is set for noon with J.J. Duke and Brinley Anderson calling the action on YouTube.

LAST TIME OUT
For the second consecutive game, Fairfield used lock down defense to flip a halftime deficit into a road victory. Last Saturday, the Stags allowed just two Providence goals in the second half, and
KJ Delane put home the game-winner with 1:38 left to upend the host Friars, 8-7.

Delane's game-winner was his second of the day to go along with an assist.
Will Consoli paced the Fairfield offense form the midfield with two goals and three helpers.
Devin Lampron also scored twice and dished out an assist for a three-point day.

Jake Gilbert posted a goal and an assist,
Justin Brown scored one goal, and the midfield duo o
Jeremiah Wade and
Rob Moore distributed one assist apiece.

Owen Hirsch anchored the defense with 10 saves – the last coming in the closing seconds with the Stags hanging on to their one goal advantage.

TALKING POINTS
- Opening the season with four of their first five games on the road, the Stags are 3-2 overall and 3-1 away from home.
- Fairfield has played three one-goal games and sits at 2-1 in those contests.
- Will Consoli (9g, 7a) and Jake Gilbert (7g, 9a) share the lead team with 16 points apiece. Consoli paces the Stags in goals and Gilbert is Fairfield's top facilitator.
- Andrew Baxter, who won an NCAA Championship as an assistant coach at Yale in 2018, meets his former team and former boss Andy Shay for the first time as a head coach.

SECOND HALF SURGE
The Stags outscored their last two opponents in the second half by a 14-5 count, flipping a halftime deficit into a win at both Manhattan and Providence.

In the Feb. 21 win at Manhattan, the Stags began the second half on a 9-0 run. Seven players scored during the stretch and the defense kept the Jaspers off the board for a total of 20:26 of game time.

Last Saturday at Providence, the Friars scored just two goals in the final 35:30 to facilitate
KJ Delane's late game-winner in the 8-7 Fairfield triumph.
