Â
CLOSE ENCOUNTERS
Fairfield has played four one-goal games this season and sits at 2-2 in those contests. Two of those encounters went into overtime, with Fairfield defeating Lehigh in double OT on Feb. 6 in Bethlehem and falling to in-state foe Yale in an extra frame on March 7 at Rafferty Stadium.
THE CENTURY CLUB
Jake Gilbert netted his 100th career point in the Feb. 28 win at Providence. Gilbert has compiled 73 goals and 32 assists in the career. He was an All-CAA Second Team honoree last spring.
Â
USILA TEAM OF THE WEEK
Julian Radossich was named to the season's first USILA Team of the Week for his defensive performance in the Feb. 14 home game against Brown, posting eight ground balls and four caused turnovers.
Â
WORKING OVERTIME
The Feb. 6 double overtime victory was Fairfield's third straight win when a game goes beyond 60 minutes. Last season, the Stags won back-to-back February games in an extra session: a 13-12 double-overtime win over Sacred Heart followed by an 8-7 overtime triumph over visiting Manhattan.
Â
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Luke Patchen scored two goals in the Feb. 6 win at Lehigh to earn CAA Rookie of the Week honors.
Â
STARTING POINTS
Fairfield was selected second in the CAA Predicted Order of Finish, as voted upon by the league's head coaches. Reigning champion Towson topped the ledger.
Â
WATCH HIM WORK
Julian Radossich was one of 50 men's lacrosse student-athletes nationwide to begin the 2026 campaign on the Tewaaraton Award Watch List. Radossich was a consensus All-America Honorable Mention last spring. He also picked up his second straight All-CAA First Team nod in addition to Defensive Player of the Year laurels.
Â
PRESEASON ALL-CAA
Five Stags were recognized with Preseason All-CAA plaudits by the conference's head coaches. Midfielder
Will Consoli and defenseman
Julian Radossich were selected to the Preseason All-CAA team. The trio of attackman
Jake Gilbert, midfielder
Rob Moore, and goalkeeper
Owen Hirsch garnered Preseason All-CAA Honorable Mention status.
Â
THE 2026 STAGS
Fairfield's 55-man roster is comprised of 37 returners, 16 true freshmen, and two transfers (
Gavin McCarthy -- Bryant,
Landon Whitney -- Albany).
Â
The Stags welcome back seven of their top eight goal and point scorers. Fairfield returns over 75 percent of its goals and total points from 2025, as well as all but 12 of its 906 goalie minutes, and the trio that started 14 of 15 games on close defense.
Â
The biggest change statistically will come at the faceoff 'X' due to the graduation loss of
Dylan Smith, who took just about one-third (132) of Fairfield's 397 draws last spring.
Â
FAMILY TIES
Brothers Will and
Cooper Consoli will be teammates this season, both following in the Fairfield footsteps of their older brother and former Stags' goalkeeper Colin Consoli (2021-24).
Â
Additional connection in the Stags' family tree include
John Okupski, who is the younger brother of his former teammate
Luke Okupski (2022-25), and
Keegan Lynch, who is the younger brother of former Stag Braden Lynch (2021-24).
Â
A DOZEN DUBS
Fairfield's 12 wins in 2025 matched the program record set in 2012 and then equaled in 2014. Both of those squads finished at 12-4.
