FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Basketball team will host their annual Play4Kay contest, raising donations for the Norma Pfriem Breast Center when they host Iona at the Leo D. Mahoney Arena on Saturday at 1pm. The Stags are coming off a program-record 109-point outing with junior Road Runner
Meghan Andersen becoming the first Stag to drop 40-points in a game.
Andersen connected on her first seven 3-point attempts en-route to her history making performance. As a team, the Stags bested the 34-year old school record that was set against Central Florida in 1991.
Andersen hit eight of the team's 19 3-pointers as the Stags shot 52 percent from behind the arc. The Stags increased their season average to 12.1 made per-game, the most in Division I. It was the third time this season Fairfield has 19 or more 3-pointers in a game and the 14th time that they have hit double-digits.
Kaety L'Amoreaux reached the 20-point mark for the 11th time this season, also leading the team with eight assists.
Keyarah Gregory came off the bench and recorded career-highs with eight rebounds and five assists.
Iona brings a 7-7 conference record into the contest and a 14-10 mark overall. Isabellah Middleton is the team's leading scorer with a 14.8 scoring average with Zoey Ward leading the battle on the board with 7.2 rebounds per contest.
The Fairfield Women's Basketball program will also be hosting their annual Play4Kay game, raising donation to support the
Norma Pfriem Breast Center. Pink t-shirts will be sold and donations will be collected with a silent auction will begin an hour prior to tip-off. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to promote breast cancer awareness.
