FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Basketball team will host the Saint Peter's Peacocks on Thursday night at 7pm at Leo D. Mahoney Arena. Fairfield enters the contest in a first-place tie at the top of the MAAC standings with a 16-1 league mark while holding a 22-4 overall record.
 
Fairfield moved to that first-place tie with a huge road win over Quinnipiac their last time out. Junior guard Kaety L'Amoreaux led the Stags with a 30-point performance in one of their biggest wins of the season. The MAAC's leading scorer improved her scoring average to 19.0 points per game while recording her 12th game of 20 or more points.
 
For her clutch success, L'Amoreaux was honored with her sixth MAAC Player of the Week award, the most by any student-athlete since the 2019-20 season. It was also her 10th weekly accolade of the season as she has also earned three All-Met Player of the Week awards and a spot on the USBWA National Player of the Week list.
 
Her career year has also been recognized around the nation as she was one of 10 players selected as a Mid-Major Player of the Year Semifinalist. L'Amoreaux is currently five points shy of reaching 500 during her junior season, as she would become the 13th Stag to reach that mark.
 
As a team, the Stags received seven points in the most recent Associated Press (AP) Top-25 poll while placing third in the College Insider Mid-Major poll.
 
The Stags also post the nation's leading 3-point shooting team as they average 12.1 made triples. Their 315 total are six 3-pointers shy of tying the MAAC's single season record set during the 2014-15 season.
 
Fairfield will next travel to Siena for their final road regular season game as they take on the Saints on Saturday at 2pm.
