FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Basketball team will travel to Emmitsburg, Md., to face the Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers to begin a two-game road trip. This will be Fairfield's first and only regular season matchup against the Mount. Tip-off will be on Thursday at 7pm on ESPN+.
 
The Stags are coming off one of the best offensive weekends in program history, as the team averaged 95.5 points which included a program-record 109 output against Marist.
 
In total, Fairfield shot .518 from the field and connected on 29 3-pointers. The Stags also averaged 22.5 assists while committing just 9.0 turnovers, which included a season-low seven against Iona on Saturday.
 
Meghan Andersen led the charge with a program-record 40 point showing in the victory against Marist. Andersen averaged 27.0 points, shot 70 percent from the field, and 67 percent from 3-point range in just 26.0 minutes per game.
 
For her efforts, she was honored with her third MAAC Player of the Week award, the ninth conference weekly honor for the Stags this season. She was also named the All-Met Co-Player of the Week for the first time this year.
 
Aside from the offense, the Fairfield defense was also impressive in the wins, holding both of their opponents to fewer than 50 points. The Stags have done that in eight of their last 12 games and foes are shooting just 25 percent from deep during that span.
 
Mount enters the game with a 12-12 overall record and an 8-7 mark in the MAAC after back-to-back wins over Iona and Sacred Heart. Gabrielle Kennerly is the lone player in double-figures in scoring with a 15.1 average.
 
Fairfield will next make a shorter road trip when they take a trip down I-95 for another showdown with Quinnipiac on Saturday at 4pm.
