FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Volleyball plays its second consecutive Metro Conference home weekend when Saint Peter's and Rider visit Leo D. Mahoney Arena on Friday, Oct. 9 and Saturday, Oct. 10. The Stags enter the weekend in first place in the Metro as the league's last unbeaten team.
Metro Lines
- Fairfield is 5-0 in the Metro to sit alone atop the league standings.
- Marist, Siena, and Saint Peter's are all 4-1 – the Stags have not yet played any of those teams in 2026.
- While Saint Peter's makes the Fairfield County swing this weekend, Marist and Siena will also be stopping by the Nutmeg State to visit Quinnipiac in addition to a trek into Massachusetts to challenge Merrimack.
- The top six teams at the close of the 18-match Metro schedule will qualify for the conference tournament. Fairfield cannot host Metro postseason contests in 2026-27.
RP-Eyes on the National Stage
- The Stags sit at #149 in the latest NCAA RPI report (through matches played on Oct. 4).
- Fairfield tops the Metro, with Sacred Heart ranked second at #253 nationally.
- The non-conference slate included five teams currently among the nation's top 100 (#19 Tennessee, #63 Harvard, #77 Liberty, #83 Middle Tennessee, #92 Army).
Fairfield University Stags (11-5, 5-0 Metro)
- The Stags went 3-0 this past week with wins over Sacred Heart, Quinnipiac, and Merrimack to improve to 5-0 overall in the Metro Conference.
- With 22 kills on Saturday against Merrimack, Mamie Krubally moved up to sixth place in the conference with 2.90 kills per set. She slots second in the Metro with a .371 hitting percentage.
- Against Metro foes, Krubally is hitting a scorching league-high .532 with 3.70 kills per frame.
- Harlan Wyche moved into the top 20 in the nation in blocks per set this week, slotting 18th with a conference-leading 1.44 blocks per stanza.
- The back row continues to be a group effort with six Stags (min. 30 sets played) averaging 1.36 digs per set or better. Natalie Carlin leads that effort with 2.89 digs per stanza.
- Fairfield leads the Metro Conference in hitting percentage (.257) and blocks (2.56/set). The Stags are third in the league with a .179 hitting percentage against them.
Saint Peter's Peacocks (5-12, 4-1 Metro)
- The early surprise in the Metro Conference, Saint Peter's is off to a 4-1 start to league play after finishing 2-16 in the league last fall.
- SPU holds wins over Siena, Rider, Niagara, and Canisius while dropping a Metro outing to Marist. This weekend is the Peacocks' first road trip in Metro play.
- Karolina Rodriguez Mendez is the conference's most efficient hitter, putting down 2.07 kills per set at a .395 clip.
- Valeria Pagan Munoz leads the team with 2.34 kills per frame. She averages 3.29 kills per frame in Metro contests.
- The Peacocks rank sixth in hitting percentage at .158 and slot eighth defensively with opponents hitting .239 against them.
Rider University Broncs (3-11, 2-3 Metro)
- Last year's opponent for Fairfield in the MAAC Championship Match, Rider is off to a 2-3 start to league play in 2026 as a part of a 3-11 overall mark. They will visit Sacred Heart on Friday evening before Saturday's clash at Mahoney Arena.
- The Broncs got on the board in the Metro with wins over Canisius and Niagara last weekend after losses to Marist, Siena, and SPU to begin conference action.
- Rider is 11th of 12 teams in the Metro in hitting percentage at .124. The Broncs are seventh with a .233 opponent hitting percentage.
- Rylah Robinson and Anja Kelly have put down a team-leading 2.27 and 2.23 kills per set, respectively.
- Tori Bonacci leads the squad from the middle with a .330 hitting percentage.
- Rider libero Simone Langford is fifth in the Metro with 3.65 digs per set.

- The Stags return to the road next weekend to visit Marist and Siena on Oct. 16-17.
- Due to the unbalanced Metro schedule, those matches will be Fairfield's only regular season matches with the Red Foxes and Saints in 2026.
