FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Soccer team will travel to Riverdale, N.Y., to face the Manhattan Jaspers in a Metro Conference showdown on Saturday afternoon at 1:30pm. The Stags are looking to break their two-match losing streak with setbacks against first-place squads Niagara and Quinnipiac.
The two losses have put the Stags in a tie for third place in the conference with 21 points.
The team surrendered just four shots in their latest setback against the Bobcats, including just one in the second half. However, the lone Quinnipiac shot found the back of the net on a long left-footed strike by Tatum O'Brien.
Fairfield themselves took 22 shots to keep their national lead with a 22.4 shots per match average. Only four of those attempts were on target, but the Stags still rank second in the nation with shots on goal at a 9.5 clip.
Payton Zaun is the team's leader with 20 points, a number that ranks fifth in the conference.
The Jaspers enter the match with an 8-2-3 mark including a 5-1-3 clip in the conference. Lauren Ahearn is the squad's leader with 15 points and seven goals.
The Stags will return to Lessing Field for the final time in 2026 when they host Saint Peter's on Halloween with a noon kickoff.
