L’Amoreaux Reaches 1,000 Career Points; Stags Hit 20 Threes in Win at Saint Peter’s

JERSEY CITY, N.J. –Fairfield University Women's Basketball junior guard Kaety L'Amoreaux became the 36th Stag all-time to eclipse the 1,000-point milestone, hitting six of the Stags' single-game record 20 3-pointers in an 84-62 victory at Saint Peter's. With the win, the Stags run their winning streak to eight-straight while moving to 6-0 in the MAAC.

"I thought we were very lackadaisical in the first half defensively," Head Coach Carly Thibault-DuDonis said. "Saint Peter's did a great job executing their offense and getting what they wanted and we didn't do much to disrupt them from that. I thought we were a little bit more disruptive and a little bit more connected."

L'Amoreaux's historic bucket closed out Fairfield's highest scoring quarter as the Stags netted 25 in the third.

L'Amoreaux swished through a 3-pointer with just 25 seconds left in the third to put the score at 61-44. That bucket ignited the junior as she swished through two more triples on her next two attempts to bring her game total to 22, the seventh time this season she has reached 20 or more points.

Even though the Stags hit 10 3-pointers in the first half, Fairfield could only manage a three-point halftime lead as Saint Peter's shot 46 percent in the first 20 minutes.

The Stags would pull away in the third, shooting 60 percent from long-range while connecting on six long-range shots. Fairfield outscored the Peacocks 25-11 in the third and 48-29 in the second half.

In total, the Stags shot 60 percent in the second half while going 10-for-20 from behind the arc.

L'Amoreaux led the Stags with 24 points going 6-for-11 from long-range. She regained the team and conference lead in scoring with a 19.1 average and brought her 3-point total to a team-high 43 triples.

Sydni Scott also had an impressive shooting performance, hitting a season-high four triples on just five attempts.

Janelle Brown and Jillian Huerter both went 3-for-5 from distance while each tallying 11 points.

Christina Pham was the playmaker of the team, dishing out a career-high seven assists without committing a turnover.

L'Amoreaux became the 36th Stag all-time to reach the 1,000 point milestone and the second this season joining teammate Meghan Andersen.

"Lammy's been the heart and soul of our team all year long," Coach Carly said. "It's an awesome milestone for her to achieve and we're all proud of her. I think the cool thing is that she's being recognized for scoring 1,000 points but she does so much more than that."

The win was Fairfield's eighth-straight this season and their 46th road win since 2022, the most in the nation.

The 20 made 3-pointers is the second-most made against a Division I opponent in the country this season. Fairfield now owns three of the top 10 spots for made 3-pointers in a single game against a Division I foe. No other team has more than one.

Fairfield will have nearly a week-long break before going on their next road trip on Wednesday morning at 11am at Marist.
