BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Fairfield University Women's Basketball team will close out their road trip with a visit to Canisius on Saturday afternoon at 1pm. The Stags are currently riding a 12-game winning streak which is tied for the eighth-longest in the nation. That success has brought the Stags to a first-place tie in the conference standings with their 10-0 league mark.
Fairfield has also been recognized on the national scale, placing third in the College Insider Mid-Major Top-25 poll.
Fairfield is coming off an 81-51 road victory against Niagara on Thursday night. Five-time MAAC Player of the Week
Kaety L'Amoreaux led the team in scoring with 26 points, the 12th game this season she has led the team in scoring. The MAAC scoring leader has also reached the 20-point plateau in nine games this year. The junior reached another milestone as she became the 21st Stag to reach the 300-assist plateau for her career.
She was one of just 15 players nationally to be placed on the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Watch List.
For the season, she leads the MAAC in: points (19.6), assists (4.5), field goal percentage (.513), 3-point percentage (.434), and free throw percentage (.906).
Fairfield improved their nation's-best 3-point shooting, upping their average to 12.7 made 3-pointers per game. The Stags connected on 17 triples in their win at Niagara, bringing their total to 999 in the four years under Coach Carly.
