Stags Picked Second in CAA Preseason Poll, Five Claim Preseason Honors

Fairfield earned one first-place vote on the ledger

RICHMOND, Va. – Fairfield University Men's Lacrosse has been selected second in the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Preseason Poll, which was voted upon by the conference's seven head coaches and unveiled by the league office on Thursday. The Stags also saw five student-athletes gain Preseason All-CAA recognition.

Fairfield was selected second of seven teams on the ledger with 30 points, including one first-place vote. The balance of first-place tallies went to defending champion Towson, which tops the predicted order of finish. The Tigers' All-America attackman Mikey Weisshaar was named CAA Preseason Player of the Year.

Drexel, Hofstra, Stony Brook, Monmouth, and Hampton complete the preseason list.

Individually, five Stags were recognized with preseason laurels. Midfielder Will Consoli and defenseman Julian Radossich were selected as Preseason All-CAA, with the trio of attackman Jake Gilbert, midfielder Rob Moore, and goalkeeper Owen Hirsch tabbed with Honorable Mention status.

Will Consoli is a three-time All-CAA honoree in his career, including First Team honors in the midfield in both 2024 and 2025. He was also an All-New England Second Team selection last spring, tallying 17 goals with 13 assists in 13 games. Now a senior, Consoli began his career as the 2023 CAA Rookie of the Year. He has scored 67 goals and 101 total points to date.

Recently named a USA Lacrosse Preseason All-America Honorable Mention, Julian Radossich adds to his résumé with Preseason All-CAA laurels. He was a consensus Honorable Mention All-American as a sophomore in 2025, earning that distinction from USA Lacrosse as well as Inside Lacrosse and the USILA. He also picked up his second straight All-CAA First Team nod in addition to Defensive Player of the Year laurels. Radossich ranks second in the nation in caused turnovers, posting a CAA-leading and Fairfield program-record 42 caused turnovers. He also collected 44 ground balls, leading the team among non-faceoff men, and pitched in offensively with one goal and one assist.

In his career, Radossich has earned a Fairfield-record 69 caused turnovers with 84 ground balls, three goals, and three assists. He was the 2024 CAA Rookie of the Year.

Jake Gilbert starts his senior campaign as a Preseason All-CAA Honorable Mention. He was an All-CAA Second Team member last spring after netting 29 goals with eight assists. Gilbert has contributed 85 points in 43 games in his Fairfield career to date, comprised of 62 goals and 23 helpers.

Rob Moore had a breakout campaign on his way to All-CAA Second Team honors in 2025 and kicks off his graduate season as a Preseason All-CAA Honorable Mention. In his first season in the starting offensive midfield, Moore scored 13 goals with 17 assists while playing in all 15 games. He has played 36 career outings as a Stag, piling up 23 goals and 32 assists.

Owen Hirsch is Fairfield's third Preseason All-CAA Honorable Mention coming off of All-CAA Second Team laurels last spring. 2025 was Hirsch's first full season as the Stags' starting goalkeeper, where he posted a 9.32 goals-against average and a .514 save percentage. Hirsch was the goalie of record for all 15 games, tying the program single-season mark with 12 wins in the cage.

In 25 total appearances totaling over 1200 minutes over the last two seasons, Hirsch is 16-5 with a 9.86 goals-against average and a .511 save percentage.

Fairfield Men's Lacrosse finished the 2025 season with a record of 12-3, tying the program single-season record for wins. The Stags went 8-0 on Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium – the first unbeaten home mark in a full season in program history – and spent 10 weeks in the national rankings.

The 2026 campaign begins on Saturday, Feb. 7 at Lehigh. The Stags open the home slate on the following Saturday, Feb. 14, at Rafferty Stadium with a noon visit from Brown.
