L’Amoreaux Named to Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Midseason Watch List

HOPEWELL, N.J. – Fairfield University Women's Basketball junior guard Kaety L'Amoreaux was one of 15 players recognized on the midseason watch list for the 2025 Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Award. L'Amoreaux, a five-time MAAC Player of the Week, leads the entire conference in both scoring (19.2 points per game) and assists (4.3 per game) while ranking in the top-100 in Division I in eight different categories.

"Kaety is more than deserving of this recognition," Head Coach Carly Thibault-DuDonis said. "She has been one of the most consistent and impactful point guards in women's college basketball all season long. Her work ethic is exceptional - one of the best I've seen in my coaching career - and I'm excited to see what she and her teammates continue to accomplish this season."

Throughout her career, L'Amoreaux has helped the Stags to become one of the premiere mid-major programs in the nation. Fairfield, the two-time defending MAAC Champions, are once again tied for the top-spot in the conference with an unblemished 9-0 league record. Fairfield is also being recognized on the national scale by receiving votes in the most recent Associated Press (AP) Top-25 poll as well as earning the third spot on the College Insider Mid-Major poll.

This season, the junior guard is in the midst of a career year, leading the conference in: points, assists, field goal percentage (.505), and free throw percentage (.902). She is also in the top-five in the MAAC in: assist-turnover ratio (1.44), steals (2.3 per game), 3-point percentage (.425), and 3-pointers per game (2.7).

She has earned the MAAC Player of the Week award five times, which is tied for the most by any MAAC student-athlete since 2020.

She has made a leading impact in almost every game this season by leading the team in points 11 times, assists 10 times, and rebounding nine times.

She has seen historical moments this season by becoming the 36th Stag to reach the 1,000-career point milestone while also becoming the first Stag in program history to record a triple-double in the home win over Niagara. She also set a new career-high with 31 points in the road win at Richmond while reaching the 20-point mark in eight games.

Ten semifinalists will be announced in February with the five finalists being announced in early March, and the winner announced around the Final Four.

L'Amoreaux and the Stags will embark on their Western New York swing starting with a Thursday night game at Niagara at 7pm.
