FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Basketball team will welcome the Siena Saints to Leo D. Mahoney Arena for a Monday afternoon game at 2pm. Fairfield will riding a 10-game winning streak while holding an unblemished 8-0 record in the conference. The women's basketball program will also host their fourth-annual Black Excellence game celebrating the life and accomplishments of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., throughout the game.
The Stags increased their winning streak with a 76-54 victory over Manhattan on Saturday. Five different players reached double-figures led by
Meghan Andersen's 18 point.
Cyanne Coe tallied her first career double-double with 13 points and a career-high 12 rebounds. Coe led the Stags' impressive efforts on the board as the Stags out-rebounded the Jaspers 37-21. Fairfield also grabbed 18 offensive rebounds with Coe leading the team with eight. The 21 Manhattan rebounds were the fewest the Stags have given up to an opponent this season.
Fairfield has now recorded double-doubles in back-to-back games with Andersen accomplishing the feat at Marist and Coe tallying one on Saturday. It is the first time that the Stags have had two-straight games with a player tallying a double-double since Nov. 20-26, 2023 with L'Amoreaux (Rutgers) and Andersen (CCSU) accomplishing the feat.
Fairfield will also put a 20-game home winning streak on the line, tying for the fourth-longest active streak in the nation. With a win, the Stags will tie the program record for consecutive home wins by the 1990-91 squads.
Siena is coming off a win against Saint Peter's, snapping their three-game losing streak and putting their conference record to 5-3. Francesca Schiro is the team's leading scorer at 16.1 points per game while Kaiya Rain Tucker leads the team on the boards with 6.3 rebounds.
The Stags will next embark on their Western New York trip starting with a Thursday night game at Niagara at 6pm.
