Stags Hit The Road For Wednesday Matinee Against Marist

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Basketball team will complete their two-game road trip when they visit Marist for a Wednesday matinee contest at 11am. The Stags are riding an eight-game winning streak that pits them as one of just two unbeaten conference teams with their 6-0 league mark.

A big reason for that success has been their 3-point shooting ability as they keep their national lead with 12.8 triples per game. Fairfield is coming off one of their best shooting performances as they set the single-game program record with 20 made 3-pointers against Saint Peter's. The 20 long-range shots are tied for the second-most in a Division I game this season.

It also marked the third time this season the Stags have made 18 or more 3-pointers in a game this season, the only school in the country with that distinction. Among the top-12 shooting performances against Division I teams this season, the Stags hold three spots.

Junior Kaety L'Amoreaux led the team in scoring for the ninth time this season as she poured in 24 points which also included the 1,000th of her career. She regained the conference lead with a 19.1 scoring average while also connecting on six 3-pointers.

Fairfield got off to another quick start against Saint Peter's, netting 19 points in the first quarter. In their last eight games, the Stags are outscoring their opponents 171-90 over the first 10 minutes. The Stags have also forced their last eight opponents to call a timeout in the first quarter including six inside the first four minutes.

The Stags also won their 46th road game under Head Coach Carly Thibault-DuDonis, representing the most in the nation during that span.

For the first time this season, the Stags had five different student-athletes tally double-figures with L'Amoreaux, Sydni Scott, Janelle Brown, Jillian Huerter, and Meghan Andersen all reaching the mark.

Marist brings a 6-10 overall record and a 3-3 conference mark into the game. Lexie Tarul is the team's leading scorer with 12.9 points per game while Justine Henry is the team leader on the glass with 6.9 rebounds per contest.

Fairfield will start a busy stretch with two home games this weekend, starting with a Saturday afternoon contest against Manhattan at 2pm.
