Stags Host Marist on Wednesday Night

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Soccer team will host the Marist Red Foxes for a Wednesday night match on Lessing Field at 7pm. Both teams enter the match unbeaten in the MAAC standings with Marist holding a one-point edge over the Stags with one extra match. Fairfield also holds an 8-1-1 overall record, placing in the top-10 in the nation with an .850 winning percentage.
 
Fairfield improved their conference record to 3-0-1 while winning their nation's leading 21st-straight home match with a 1-0 win over Siena. Emilie Cook looped in the game-winner in the 73rd minute netting her first goal of the season.
 
Cook accepted a pass from Ashley McMahon setting up her game-winning long-range strike. McMahon's assist marked the sixth-straight match she has tallied a point and she is now tied for second on the team with 11 points.
 
The victory was Fairfield's 21st-straight win at Lessing Field, extending the nation's longest home winning streak.
 
Fairfield has also reached 10 points with their 3-0-1 conference mark, placing fourth in the MAAC.
 
Marist has tallied 11 points with their 3-0-2 MAAC mark after winning three-straight matches. Gabby Tirado is the team leader with six goals, four assists, and 16 points.
 
The Stags will embark on their Western New York trip, facing off against Canisius on Saturday at noon.
