PENNSAUKEN, N.J. – The men's novice 8 picked up a first-place finish in its time-trial at the Dad Vail Regatta, earning a spot in the Grand Final on Saturday. The Stags placed three entries in prestigious event with the varsity 8 and the second varsity 8 also competing today.
The novice 8 was the first crew in the water for Fairfield and it responded with an impressive time of 6:27.50 to clip runner-up Temple University (6:29.33) by just over two seconds. Army West Point rounded out the top three with its time of 6:39.60. The winning time put the Stags into the Grand Final which sets off 1:10 pm on Saturday.

The men's second varsity 8 started next and completed the distance 6:30.56 to take 10
th place in its time trail. In the second semifinal, the boat clocked in at 6:51.74 which ranked fifth in the results. With their performance, the group will compete in the second final on Saturday beginning at 9:18 am.
