POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Fairfield University Women's Lacrosse rolled to a 20-10 Win at Marist on Saturday afternoon to claim a share of the 2025 MAAC Regular Season Championship. The regular season crown is the third straight for the Stags and the 16th in program history.
Fairfield improved to 9-7 overall and 7-1 in the MAAC with today's win. The Stags share the regular season title with Mount St. Mary's, which earned the top seed and hosting rights for the 2025 MAAC Championship. The Stags will be the #2 seed in the tournament, beginning action against an opponent to be determined in the semifinal round on Friday, May 2 in Emmitsburg, Md.
Head Coach
Laura Field has been at the helm for six MAAC Regular Season Championships in addition to five as an assistant coach with the Stags.
Marist's 2025 season ended on Saturday, finishing at 3-14 overall and 2-6 in the MAAC.
Fairfield's third 20-goal game of the season was powered by
Brynn Donnelly's standout performance on the draw. The junior hauled in a program-record 18 draw controls – breaking her own program record of the second time this week. Donnelly also surpassed the Fairfield single-season record as she improved her tally to 129 draw controls and counting in 2025.
With Donnelly keeping the Stags on the attack, Fairfield got a number of high-powered outings from the offense.
Mary Henry racked up nine points – one shy of the Fairfield single-game record – and tied the program record with seven assists. That mark was most recently attained by
Brooke Marotti just seven days ago in the Senior Day win over Manhattan.
Grace Slater matched her career-high with six goals on six shots, boosting her totals to 39 goals and a team-leading 58 total points.
Kelly Haggerty's four-goal day ran her count to a team-best 40 goals on the season. And
Amanda Kozak had a goal and five assists, now leading all Stags with 30 helpers this spring.
Haley Burne and
Kyleigh Tufano pitched in two goals apiece for the Stags. Marotti and
Tessa Caputo each contributed one goal and one assist, and
Katie Bergen scored one goal.
Defensively, Burns and
Maggie Lonsinger each had two caused turnovers, and
Delaney Brimhall picked up a pair of ground balls.
Keira Furey made seven saves defending the Fairfield cage.
Chloe Birckhead and Anne Shine had four points apiece for Marist.
