CAA Road Clash Sends #16/17 Stags to Delaware, Saturday at Noon

Fairfield enters the weekend at 3-1 in conference play

OPENING FACEOFF
#16/17 Fairfield University Men's Lacrosse makes the trip to Newark for the Saturday, April 12 clash at Delaware. Opening faceoff from Delaware Stadium is set for noon live on FloCollege.

LAST TIME OUT
Fairfield scored the first four goals of the day and led wire-to-wire against visiting Hofstra en route to a 14-10 victory last Saturday at Rafferty Stadium.

Four different scorers contributed to the game-opening run with Jake Gilbert, KJ Delane, Keegan Lynch and Devin Lampron each rattling the cage. Will Consoli picked up two assists during the stretch as the Stags held Hofstra scoreless for more than 17 minutes to claim a 4-0 advantage.

Keegan Lynch paced the Fairfield attack with a five-point day consisting of two goals and three assists. In addition to Okupski's four goals and Lampron's three, Will Consoli had a three-point day with three assists from the midfield and Gilbert chipped in two goals and an assist.
 
KJ Delane and Austin McClintic each contributed a goal and an assist, and Rice had one goal with his steal and score just prior to the halftime horn.
 
Fairfield and Hofstra split the faceoff battle, 13-13. Daniel Davis led the Stags' effort at 12-for-20 with five ground balls and also notched a caused turnover.
 
On the defensive end, Julian Radossich gathered four ground balls to go along with his two caused turnovers. Rory Thompson had a big game from the LSM spot with four caused turnovers and three ground balls. He went on to earn CAA Defensive Player of the Week honors for his efforts.
 
Owen Hirsch made 12 saves in the Fairfield cage in a 60 minute effort to notch the win.
 
The Pride was led by Rory Jones' five goals. Goalkeeper Shea Kennedy had 13 saves and collected five ground balls for the visitors.

SERIES HISTORY
The Stags are looking to snap an eight-game skid against the Hens, which dates back to the 2018 season. Fairfield was on the short end twice against the Delaware last spring, include an overtime loss in the CAA Semifinals.

Fairfield's five wins against Delaware came in succession, earning a victory in 2009 followed by four in a row from 2014-17.

DOUBLE DIGIT DUBS
At 10-1, the Stags have locked up the sixth campaign with double-digit wins in program history. Fairfield had a program-best 12 victories in both 2012 and 2014.

CHART CLIMBERS
After moving to 10-1 this past Saturday, Fairfield has moved up in all three major national polls. The Stags have been nationally ranked for seven consecutive weeks.
 
Fairfield moved up three spots in the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll to #16 and also jumped three places to #17 in the USILA Coaches' Poll. The Stags also rose one slot to #18 in the USA Lacrosse Top 20.

TOP OF THE LIST
Julian Radossich has set the Fairfield single-season (32) and career (59) caused turnover records this season. He was also the prior holder of the single-season record (27) established last spring en route to CAA Rookie of the Year laurels.

Radossich ranks second in the nation with 2.91 caused turnovers per game. He has been named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List and was tabbed as an Inside Lacrosse Midseason All-American.

TWO WEEKLY WINNERS
Fairfield has earned a pair of CAA weekly honors on the heels of a 14-10 win over Hofstra this past Saturday. Devin Lampron was named the CAA Rookie of the Week for the fourth time in 2025, and Rory Thompson collected CAA Defensive Player of the Week for the first time as a Stag.
 
Lampron netted a hat trick on Saturday to earn Rookie of the Week laurels. The effort was Lampron's fifth hat trick of the season and his eighth game with multiple goals. He scored twice in the first half as the Stags built a 7-1 advantage and completed his hat trick with an insurance tally in the closing minutes to seal the 14-10 victory.
 
For the season, Lampron ranks fifth in the CAA with a team-high 26 goals (2.36 goals per game). Lampron is the fifth-most prolific rookie goal scorer in the nation. He has also dished out four assists for an even 30 points on the season.
 
Thompson started in the LSM spot against the Pride and was an anchor for a stalwart defensive effort by the Stags. The senior forced a career-high four caused turnovers and picked up three ground balls.
 
Thompson has appeared in every game for the Stags as a key part of the nation's eighth-ranked scoring defense with 8.45 goals per game allowed. The Fairfield man-down defense is also among the top 20 in the nation with a .714 success rate. Statistically, Thompson has recorded 27 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers. He has also dished out a pair of assists.

UP NEXT
Fairfield is back on the road next Saturday, April 19 for a showdown at reigning CAA Champion Towson. The Tigers top the league standings again this spring at 4-0 as a part of a 6-5 overall mark entering a Saturday visit from Hampton.
