#12/13 Stags Clipped at Stony Brook, 17-16, for First Loss of 2025

Gilbert and Moore each post four points

STONY BROOK, N.Y. – After 10 tie scores in Saturday's CAA clash at Stony Brook, the host Seawolves were the squad to snap the final deadlock and snap the nine-game winning streak for #12/13 Fairfield University Men's Lacrosse. Jake Gilbert and Rob Moore each tallied four points for the Stags in a 17-16 loss on Long Island.

Fairfield's unbeaten streak comes to an end at a program-best nine games as the Stags now stand at 9-1 overall and 2-1 in the CAA. Stony Brook, which had lost its previous two conference matchups in overtime, gets the better of a one-goal contest to improve to 5-5 on the year and 1-2 in league play.

Gilbert had four goals on the day, running hit total to 23 on the season. Devin Lampron added a hat trick to match Gilbert for the team high of 23 markers this year. Moore chipped in two goals and dished out two assists for his four-point afternoon, and Andrew Kasten scored twice in transition from the defensive midfield.

Rounding out the Stags' scoring were single goals from the crosses of Will Consoli, Jason LaMay Jr., Daniel Davis, Matt Rice and Luke Okupski.

Keegan Lynch was Fairfield's top facilitator, dishing out three assists to boost his team-leading marks to 19 helpers and 31 points this spring. Consoli, Luke Fisher and Shane Elliott contributed one assist apiece.

The Stags stayed on the attack courtesy of a 19-18 edge at the faceoff X. Daniel Davis went 10-for-20 with a goal and five ground balls. Dylan Smith returned to action and posted a 9-for-17 day, coming away with six grounders.

On the defensive end, Julian Radossich had four caused turnovers to break his own single-season record with 30 on the campaign. The Inside Lacrosse Midseason All-American also picked up six ground balls. Eli Adams added two caused turnovers and three ground ball pickups.

Long poles Austin McClintic and Rory Thompson each picked up four ground balls and Shane Elliott had four with the short stick.

Stony Brook was led by three goals and three assists from Kian McCoy as well as a hat trick by Brendan Marino. Standout goalkeeper Jamison MacLachlan made 20 saves for the Seawolves.
