CAA Play Starts Saturday for #16 Stags at Hampton

Fairfield eyes its best start in program history

OPENING FACEOFF
#16 Fairfield University Men's Lacrosse begins the Coastal Athletic Association portion of the 2025 slate with the longest trip on the league schedule. The Stags visit Hampton on Saturday, March 15 for an 11 a.m. opening faceoff.

LAST TIME OUT
Fairfield scored the first 14 goals of Saturday afternoon's clash with UMass Lowell en route to a 19-5 victory on Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium.

Devin Lampron led a balanced offense that saw 16 different Stags contribute to the scoring efforts. The rookie attackman scored three goals and two assists while playing only in the first half, moving into the team lead with 17 markers on the season.

Andrew Kasten had his best day on the offensive side of the ball as the short-stick defensive midfielder scored two goals with two assists leading Fairfield's transition offense.

Eli Adams paced the close defense statistically with four caused turnovers and two ground balls. Julian Radossich matched his average with three caused turnovers and also nabbed five grounders.

Owen Hirsch drew the start in the cage and played the first half, stopping four of the five shots he faced as the Stags built a 17-1 halftime advantage. Hirsch also picked off a pass for a caused turnover and ground ball.

Will Snyder took over the crease in the third quarter and finished with five saves. Walker Hunter stopped both shots that he saw in the fourth quarter, and Jaden Galfano made his collegiate debut in the cage over the final 5:09 of action.

A trio shared the load at the faceoff X. Mark Durling went 5-for-9 with two ground balls, Daniel Davis finished at 4-for-10 and Jonathan Lewis had a 4-for-9 day.

SERIES HISTORY
The all-time series began when Hampton joined the CAA in 2023. Fairfield is 2-0 against the Pirates with one win in Virginia and one on Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium.

HOT START, HOT FACTS
Fairfield's 7-0 record matches the best start in program history, equaling the 2012 squad that won its first seven games en route to a 12-4 final mark.

The Stags have also tied the longest overall winning streak of seven games, set in 2005 and matched in both 2012 and 2014.

Fairfield enters the weekend as one of three unbeaten teams in the nation alongside #1 Maryland (6-0) and #3 Army West Point (6-0). The Stags share the national lead in victories with Ohio State (7-1) and Duke (7-1).

CHART CLIMBERS
Checking in at #16, the Stags have been ranked in the USILA Poll for the last two weeks. Fairfield's #16 position is its best in the coaches' poll since ranking #14 in the penultimate poll of the 2014 campaign. The Stags' best ever national ranking is #11, also achieved in 2014.

The Stags also moved up one spot to #15 in this week's Inside Lacrosse Media Poll and rose two places to #18 in the USA Lacrosse Top 20.

JULIAN FOR TEWAARATON
After a standout start to the season, Julian Radossich has been added to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List.

Radossich leads the CAA with 21 caused turnovers, ranking second in the nation at 3.00 caused turnovers per game. He has also scooped up 19 ground balls with one goal and one assist. Radossich had a program-record seven caused turnovers in the season-opening victory over Lehigh – one short of matching the NCAA Division I record.

As a unit, Fairfield leads the CAA and ranks third in the nation with 7.29 goals per game allowed. The Stags have limited six of seven opponents to date to eight goals are fewer.

I LOVE LAMPRON
Devin Lampron had a seven-point week to earn CAA Rookie of the Week accolades for the third time in the last four weeks. He scored twice in the win over St. John's and then notched a hat trick with two assists – while playing only in the first half – on Saturday against UMass Lowell.

Now a three-time CAA Rookie of the Week, Lampron is second in the CAA in with 17 goals. He is one of six freshmen in the nation averaging at least 2.43 goals per contest. He has also distributed three assists for a total of 20 points.

MORE HARDWARE FOR JULIAN
Julian Radossich helped to anchor a dominant defensive week for the Stags en route to CAA Defensive Player of the Week laurels. Fairfield conceded just 13 total goals to St. John's and UMass Lowell in a pair of convincing victories.

Radossich tallied four caused turnovers and six groundballs for the week and also dished out an assist in the 19-5 rout of the River Hawks.

OWEN GETS GOIN'
Owen Hirsch was named the CAA Defensive Player of the Week in consecutive weeks on Feb. 17 and 24.

On the season, Hirsch leads the CAA and slots third in the nation with a 6.86 goals against average. His .592 save percentage is second in the conference as well as 10th nationally. The senior has recorded 8.71 saves per contest to date.

UP NEXT
Action returns to Rafferty Stadium on the following Saturday, March 22, for a noon faceoff against Drexel. The Stags will celebrate Senior Day prior to the game. Tickets are on sale now at FairfieldStags.com/TIX.

The Dragons are 3-4 on the season heading into their CAA opener on Saturday on Vidas Field against Monmouth.
