FAIRFIELD, Conn. – After two wins last week, Fairfield University Men's Lacrosse continued to climb in the national polls. The 7-0 Stags are ranked #16 in both the USILA Coaches' Poll and the
Inside Lacrosse Media Poll. Fairfield also moved up to #18 in the USA Lacrosse Top 20.
The move up to #16 represented a jump of one spot in both major national polls. The Stags improved to 7-0 last week with a pair of decisive wins over St. John's (20-8) and UMass Lowell (19-5). Fairfield joins #1 Maryland and #3 Army West Point as Division I's three remaining unbeaten men's lacrosse teams.
Fairfield's #16 position is its best in the coaches' poll since ranking #14 in the penultimate poll of the 2014 campaign. The Stags' best ever national ranking is #11, also achieved in 2014.
#16 Fairfield Men's Lacrosse vies for the best start and longest winning streak in the program history – as well as a strong start to the CAA slate – on Saturday, March 15 with an 11 a.m. visit to Hampton. The Pirates, who travel to Bellarmine on Tuesday, are 0-6 on the season.
Action returns to Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium on the following Saturday, March 22 to host Drexel. The Stags will celebrate Senior Day prior to the noon faceoff with the Dragons. Tickets are on sale now at
