Radossich and Lampron Collect CAA Weekly Honors

The duo was instrumental in a dominant 2-0 week for the Stags

RICHMOND, Va. – On the heels of two decisive victories for Fairfield University Men's Lacrosse, Julian Radossich and Devin Lampron have received weekly honors from the Coastal Athletic Association. Radossich was selected as the league's Defensive Player of the Week while Lampron was tabbed for the third time this spring as CAA Rookie of the Week.

Radossich helped to anchor a dominant defensive week for the Stags. Fairfield conceded just 13 total goals to St. John's and UMass Lowell in a pair of Fairfield victories. Radossich tallied four caused turnovers and six groundballs for the week and also dished out an assist in the 19-5 rout over the River Hawks.

For the second, Radossich ranks second in the nation with 3.00 caused turnovers per game. His 21 caused turnovers are six shy of his own program record established last season. The reigning CAA Rookie of the Year has also picked up 19 ground balls and chipped in a goal and an assist on the offensive end.

As a unit, Fairfield ranks third in the nation in scoring defense with 7.29 goals allowed per game. Radossich is the third straight CAA Defensive Player of the Week for the Stags; goalkeeper Owen Hirsch received the distinction on Feb. 24 and March 3.

On the other end of the field, Devin Lampron had a seven-point week. He scored twice in the 20-8 win over St. John's and then notched a hat trick with two assists – while playing only in the first half – on Saturday against UMass Lowell.

Now a three-time CAA Rookie of the Week, Lampron is second in the CAA in with 17 goals. He is one of six freshmen in the nation averaging at least 2.43 goals per contest. He has also distributed three assists for a total of 20 points.

#16 Fairfield Men's Lacrosse (7-0) vies for the best start in the program history as well as a strong start to the CAA slate next Saturday, March 15 with an 11 a.m. visit to Hampton. The Pirates, who travel to Bellarmine on Tuesday, are 0-6 on the season.

Action returns to Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium on the following Saturday, March 22 to host Drexel. The Stags will celebrate Senior Day prior to the noon faceoff with the Dragons. Tickets are on sale now at FairfieldStags.com/TIX.
