FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Basketball team will #Play4Kay when they host the Rider Broncs on Thursday night at 7pm at Leo D. Mahoney Arena. The Stags will be selling T-shirts and raffle tickets while collecting donations to support
Norma Pfriem Breast Center. A silent auction will begin an hour prior to tip-off. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to promote breast cancer awareness.
On the court, the Stags will bring a perfect 15-0 league mark into the contest after defeating Manhattan 84-45 on the road. The victory was Fairfield's 11th road win of the season, putting them in the national lead for the second-straight season.
Kaety L'Amoreaux led the Stags in: points (16), rebounds (six), assists (nine), steals (five), and 3-pointers made (four). L'Amoreaux's nine assists set a new career-high as the sophomore is averaging 5.2 helpers against MAAC teams.
The Stags also did a good job finishing in traffic as they had five 'And-1' opportunities, tying the most in a game this season. Over the last six games, the Stags are averaging 10.0 made free throws while connecting on an 80 percent clip.
Fairfield also enters the game ranked in the top-15 nationally in: scoring defense (53.8), scoring margin (21.1), field goal percentage (.475), 3-pointers per game (9.3), assist-turnover ratio (1.33), and assists per game (18.2).
Rider enters the game with a 4-11 record in the MAAC after dropping three-straight games. Gabby Turco is the team's leading scorer at 14.2 points per game.
Fairfield will have a much-needed weekend off before traveling to Mount St. Mary's on Thursday at 7pm.
