GENEVA, Ohio –
Tone Sandsjo captured the 100 breaststroke gold medal with a meet record time of 1:00.61 and Chris Dauser secured the 100 fly title with a time of 47.57, highlighting the Fairfield University men's and women's program third day at the 2025 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships.
Both the men's and women's programs are in second place heading into the final day of the MAAC Championships with the men being a mere three points off the top spot.
The day started with the women's 100 fly with the Stags placing two swimmers in the B final and one student-athlete in the A final.
Olivia Thompson won the B final by finishing the distance in 57.12 while
Lauren Patalano secured fifth with a time of 57.31.
Lara Kisakol represented the Stags in the A final and collected fifth place by clocking in at 56.40.
Dauser earned the top spot in the 100 fly A final when he completed the distance in 47.57 to lead all swimmers. In the B final, Chris Weber grabbed fifth place by touching the wall in 50.44.
The 400 IM was next up on the docket with
Callie Gray leading the way on the women's side, placing fourth in the A final with here time of 4:25.38.
Olivia Glaser and
Briana Racanello competed in the B final, taking second and eighth, respectively in that race. Glaser checked in at 4:27.21 and Racanello finished in 4:40.60.
The men scored significant team points in that same event after Ed Hunt took second place (3:54.36) and Jack Behm grabbed fourth place (3:55.83) in the A final. Will Landon worked his way into the B final and recorded a time of 4:03.78 which was fifth in that event.
Erin Hoyland was the Stags' top finisher in the 200 free, garnering third place after going the distance in 1:50.68.
Holly Rahurahu represented the Stags in the B final, taking third place after posting a time of 1:53.81.
Four members of the men's team scored points in the 200 free including a trio of Stags that finished fourth, fifth, and sixth in the A final. Tim Regan was the best of the group with his time of 1:37.81, followed by Joseph Stewart (1:38.23), and Aidan Schnapf (1:38.25). Cormac Rouse took eighth place in the B final after touching the wall in 1:42.37.
The competitors took to the pool for the 100 breast, setting up Sandsjo's record-setting performance.
Alison Sposili (1:05.32) and
Cailey Stockwell (1:05.46) finished consecutively in fourth and fifth place of the B final.
Mac McMillan and Oliver McLaughlin earned a spot in the A final and brought back fifth-place and eighth-place finishes after coming in at 49.25 and 49.67, respectively. Jay Parente also competed in this distance, sporting second in the B final after registering a time of 50.22.
Diving took center stage at the 3-meter board as eight student-athletes competed for the title. Andrew Cataldo was the top Fairfield diver with his fourth-place total of 268.30 points. Tyler Robie (215.45) and Noah Duncan (206.60) rounded out the trio with their sixth- and seventh-place totals.
The night concluded with the 400 medley relay with the Fairfield women taking second place and the Fairfield men collecting fourth place.

Olivia Thompson posted a time of 3:45.02. Max McMillan, Enrique Garcia, Chris Dauser, and Joseph Stewart combined for a time of 3:15.83.
The final day of the MAAC Championship will include 1650 free, the 200 back, the 100 free, the 200 breast, the 200 fly, women's 1-meter diving, and the 400 free relay.
