FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Head Coach
Andrew Baxter has announced the trio of seniors selected to lead Fairfield University Men's Lacrosse for the upcoming 2026 season.
Eli Adams,
Will Consoli, and
Jake Gilbert have been named team captains for the spring campaign.
"Eli, Will, and Jake have all been integral to our growth over the last three years, both on the field and in our team culture," said Baxter. "I'm looking forward to having them as team captains and – along with their fellow upperclassmen – leading our team into the spring season."
Eli Adams has appeared in all 44 games over the last three seasons, including every contest as a starter on close defense in 2024 and 2025. Last spring, he totaled 16 ground balls and 17 caused turnovers and also chipped in offensively with a goal in the season-opening win over Lehigh.
Will Consoli is a three-time All-CAA selection and the 2023 CAA Rookie of the Year. He has totaled 30 points in each of his three campaigns on attack for the Stags, including 17 goals and 13 assists last season to crack the 100-point mark for his career. In addition to All-CAA accolades, Consoli was tabbed to the All-New England Second Team in 2025.
Jake Gilbert was an All-CAA Second Team pick in 2025 and has started every game in each of the last two years on attack for the Stags. Gilbert ranked second on the team with 29 goals and 37 total points last spring.
The three team captains are a part of a roster of 37 returners and 18 newcomers for the upcoming 2026 season. The 2025 Stags finished at 12-3 overall and 8-0 on Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium – the first unbeaten home mark in a full season in program history – and spent 10 weeks in the national rankings.
