Stags Travel to Rider on Wednesday Night

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Soccer team will continue their stay in the state of New Jersey when they travel to Rider to face the Broncs on Wednesday at 6pm. The Stags enter the match one point behind league-leading Sacred Heart in the MAAC standings with a 6-0-2 conference record. Overall, Fairfield has maintained an .857 winning percentage with an 11-1-2 record, the fourth-highest in the nation.
 
The Stags are coming off a 4-0 victory over Saint Peter's in the first match of their road trip which was highlighted by a seven-point performance and a hat trick by senior Maddy Theriault. The striker recorded her second hat trick of the season and earned her second MAAC Offensive Player of the Week award. She also became the third Stag ever to reach 100 points in a career and the first to accomplish the feat in nearly 25 years.
 
She is currently fifth in the nation with 11 goals and 11th in Division I with 25 points.
 
The win over the Peacocks was Fairfield's third-straight victory and improved their conference record to 32-4-5 since 2022.
 
Fairfield has won double-digit matches in four-straight seasons under Head Coach David Barrett.
 
Rider will bring an 0-4-4 conference mark into the match after two-straight draws against Manhattan and Iona. Tess and Ava Ferrie have combined for 11 points for the Broncs.
 
Fairfield will return to Lessing Field and celebrate Senior Day against Manhattan on Saturday at 1pm.
