FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University swimming and diving teams will continue its run of dual meets this weekend when they travel to Iona University to take on their second Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) opponent this season. The Stags also traveled to Marist College earlier in the year.
Last weekend, the teams split a tri-meet by defeating Colgate University but falling to Boston University on the road. Fairfield picked up 13 first-place finishes in the event with
Tone Sandsjo (100 and 200 breaststroke) and
Erin Hoyland (500 and 1000 free) each winning twice. On the men's side,
Joseph Stewart (100 and 200 free),
Ed Hunt (200 fly and 200 IM), and
Andrew Cataldo (1-meter and 3-meter dives) also picked up a pair of first-place finishes.
Based on their performance last weekend, Stewart earned his first MAAC men's swimmer of the week this season while Cataldo collected his fourth MAAC weekly diving award.
