Charlie McFadden Selected by Saskatchewan Rush in NLL Draft

McFadden will play a graduate year with Fairfield Men’s Lacrosse this season

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Men's Lacrosse graduate student Charlie McFadden has been selected by the Saskatchewan Rush in the third round of the National Lacrosse League Draft. McFadden, who spent his undergraduate tenure at Skidmore College, will suit for the Stags this season before entering in the professional ranks.

McFadden joined the Stags as a high-scoring Division III product, amassing 179 career points in four seasons at Skidmore. As a senior, he was top-10 in goals in the Liberty League as a part of a 33-goal and 17-assist campaign. McFadden's top scoring year came as a junior, where he put home 40 goals and distributed 22 assists.

McFadden hails from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and played scholastically at Cushing Academy in Ashburnham, Mass. He is enrolled in the M.S. in Finance program at the Dolan School of Business.

The National Lacrosse League is a professional box lacrosse league comprised of 15 teams – nine in the United States and six in Canada.

Should he take the field for the Rush next season, McFadden would be the first Stag to compete in the NLL since Hall of Famer Greg Downing '07, who played for over a decade in the NLL and in Major League Lacrosse (MLL) and was also a three-time member of Team USA Box Lacrosse.
