FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Soccer team will return to Lessing Field when they welcome the Bryant Bulldogs to campus for a Thursday night contest with kickoff at 6pm. Fairfield returns to their home pitch after a pair of road matches, highlighted by a 1,000 mile trip to Texas last week.
 
The Stags suffered their first setback of the 2024 campaign in their match in Texas as the fell 3-0 against nationally-ranked Texas A&M on Saturday. All three of the Aggies' goals were scored in the first half as the Fairfield defense kept Texas A&M off the board for the final 45 minutes including a pair of saves from goalkeeper Lindsay Dewar.
 
Fairfield took five shots in the match with a pair coming from Meghan Carragher, including a header over the crossbar on the game's first corner kick. Anya Moser had the lone attempt to reach net in the contest with a strike in the 57th minute.
 
The Stags enter the match with a 2-1 record with both game-winning goals scored by Ashlyn Walsh who was named the MAAC Rookie of the Week during the first week of the season. Her two game-winners are tied for third in the country.
 
Bryant also enters the match with a 2-1 record with wins over Stonehill and Marist. The squad has netted six goals from six different goal scorers while Madison Luke leads the team with a pair of assists. The Bulldogs return most of their goal scorers from last season including America East Second Team honoree Catherine Bean.
 
Fairfield will stay home when they welcome Fordham to Lessing Field on Sunday at 6pm.
