Box Score COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Fairfield University Women's Soccer team suffered their first loss of the season as they fell 3-0 to No. 24 Texas A&M at Ellis Field in College Station. All three scores for the Aggies came in the first half as the Stags tallied five shots in the setback.
 
The Stags (2-1) kept the SEC Aggies off the scoreboard for the first 17 minutes of the match until the home side was able to strike on a perfectly struck rocket to the top corner by Mia Pante to open the scoring. Texas A&M would later score off a free kick in the 32nd minute before closing their scoring in the 35th.
 
Fairfield was able to find some opportunities on the offensive front starting with their first shot of the match coming off the head of Meghan Carragher on a corner kick in the first half.
 
The Stags would attempt four shots in the second frame with Carragher, Maddy Theriault, Ashlyn Walsh, and Anya Moser all putting their attempt towards the net. Moser was the lone Stag to find their attempt on target.
 
Goalkeeper Katie Wright made three saves in the first half before Lindsay Dewar started the second stanza and recorded two stops.
 
The Stags evened the Aggies with three corner kicks and had the first of the match leading to Carragher's header.
 
Fairfield is back in action on Thursday night when they welcome the Bryant Bulldogs to Lessing Field with a 6pm kickoff.
