RICHMOND, Va. – For the third consecutive season, Fairfield University Men's Lacrosse has earned the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Team Academic Excellence Award, as announced on Tuesday morning by the conference office. The Stags earned a 3.51 team GPA in the 2023-24 academic year, sharing the award with Hofstra as the top performing squads among the eight CAA men's lacrosse programs.

The Team Academic Excellence Award recognizes the institution with the highest collective grade point average in all 22 sports sponsored by the CAA.

Forty-five of the 50 student-athletes on Head Coach Andrew Baxter's roster currently own an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher. The Stags boasted 28 Dean's List students in the Spring of 2024 semester.

In addition to earning the award for the third consecutive season, Fairfield has claimed the CAA Team Academic Award five times in total (2017, 2018, 2022, 2023, 2024) since its inception in 2017.
 
The 2024 season was the fifth for Fairfield led by Coach Baxter. The Stags made their first appearance in the CAA postseason since 2016, also recording a winning record both overall and in conference play for the first time since that season.
