FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Carmel Van Dijk and Agustina Casteluchi both earned a berth to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District At-Large Team for their success in the classroom as well as on the field hockey pitch. The CSC All-Academic Women's At-Large Team includes student-athletes who participate in beach volleyball, bowling, rowing, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, and water polo.

Van Dijk developed into one of the team's best offensive options during her senior year, finishing the campaign with four goals and eight assists for 16 points. Her assist total paced the Fairfield offense and placed second in the Northeast Conference. She registered an assist in seven games including the team's goal in the 2024 NEC Tournament semifinal match with Wagner College. Van Dijk finished her Stags career with eight goals and 17 assists for 33 points, averaging 0.5 points per game played.

Casteluchi earned recognition as an NFHCA All-Region first team player as well as the Northeast Conference Midfield of the Year and as a All-NEC first team student-athlete following the 2023 season. She placed among the team's top scorers, placing fourth overall with four goals and three assists for 11 points. Casteluchi scored three goals and three assists during the regular season before posting a goal in the NEC semifinal game against Wagner in November. She scored a point in seven matches, including three straight against Villanova (assist), Stonehill (goal), and Columbia (assist).

The Fairfield University field hockey team, under Head Coach Jackie Kane, finished the 2023 campaign with a 14-4 overall record and a 7-0 slate in NEC play. The Stags advanced won the conference's regular-season title and advanced to the NEC championship semifinals.
