Regular Season Finale Sends Stags to Hampton, Saturday at Noon

Fairfield is the third-seeded team in the upcoming CAA Championship

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The 2024 regular season concludes this Saturday, April 27 when Fairfield University Men's Lacrosse makes its first-ever trip to Hampton. Opening faceoff between the Stags and Pirates is slated for noon.

Fairfield University Stags (7-6, 4-2 CAA)
  • With last weekend's 11-10 win over Stony Brook, Fairfield clinched the third seed in the CAA Championship.
  • The Stags advanced to the postseason for the first time since 2016 and also secured their first winning record in CAA play since that season.
  • With a win at Hampton, Fairfield would also solidify its first winning record since 2016 (9-8), excluding the Covid-shortened 2020 campaign in which the Stags ended at 5-2.
  • Julian Radossich was named the CAA Rookie of the Week for the third time this season and the second consecutive week after posting four ground balls, two caused turnovers and an assist in the Saturday win over the Seawolves.

Hampton University Pirates (0-12, 0-6 CAA)
  • Hampton was on the short side of a 21-5 decision at Hofstra last Saturday to remain winless at 0-12.
  • The Pirates are led by Head Coach Chazz Woodson, a former standout at Brown and in the MLL.

All-Time Series
  • Last season's 22-6 win for the Stags at Rafferty Stadium was the first-ever meeting between Fairfield and Hampton.
  • Fairfield has never won a game in the state of Virginia. The Stags are 0-2 all-time at Richmond and lost one game at VMI in the inaugural 1993 varsity season.

Up Next
  • As the third-seeded team in the CAA Tournament, the Stags will play the loser of this Friday's Delaware/Towson matchup on Thursday, May 2 at 7 p.m. in the CAA Semifinals.
  • Regardless of the result between the Blue Hens and Tigers, Towson will host the CAA Championship at Johnny Unitas Stadium.
  • Delaware is ineligible to host CAA postseason play as a result of the institution's pending move to Conference USA.
