Fairfield Visits Bryant to Open Two-Game Road Stretch

The Stags bring a two-game winning streak to Smithfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – After back-to-back wins on Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium, Fairfield University Men's Lacrosse starts a two-game road swing on Wednesday with a trip to Bryant. Opening faceoff under the lights in Smithfield is set for 7 p.m.
 
The Fairfield University Stags (2-3, 0-0 CAA)
  • Fairfield most recently topped visiting Providence, 14-12, to improve to 2-3 on the season.
  • The Stags scored twice in the first 36 seconds of the contest and led wire-to-wire.
  • Bryce Ford scored twice against the Friars to boost his team-high total to 12 goals. He ranks eighth in the CAA with 2.40 goals per game.
  • Ford and Will Consoli shared ninth in the conference at 3.00 points per game, each posting 15 points through five contests.
  • Will Snyder made 15 saves in the cage against the Friars.
 
The Bryant University Bulldogs (3-2, 0-0 America East)
  • A 12-7 win at Manhattan on Saturday has Bryant at 3-2 on the season. Like the Stags, the Bulldogs hold a two-goal win over Providence – a 15-13 triumph on Feb. 10.
  • Bryant has stayed on the attack due in large part to the nation's leading faceoff man. Nathan LaLiberte is at .721 on the draw with 12.40 ground balls per game, both tops in Division I. He also own a goal and an assist from the FOGO spot.
  • Johnny Hackett leads the offense with 21 total points – 10 goals and 11 assists.
  • Jack Lonsinger is Bryant's top goal scorer with 12.
  • Bryant was 12-5 overall and 5-2 in America East last season, winning their conference crown in their inaugural season as a member before falling to #6 Johns Hopkins in the NCAA First Round.
 
Series History
  • A 14-12 win for the Bulldogs last season at Rafferty Stadium trimmed the Fairfield advantage to 4-2 in the all-time series.
  • The teams met annually from 2010-13 – with neither team scoring in double figures in any of those four encounters – and revisited the series in 2019 and 2023.
  • All six games between the squads have been decided by one or two goals, including a double overtime win for the Stags in 2012 and an overtime victory in 2019.
