First CAA Road Outing Send Stags to Drexel for Saturday Clash

Both clubs are 1-1 in conference play

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – An early, pivotal Coastal Athletic Association clash awaits this Saturday in Philadelphia when Fairfield University Men's Lacrosse makes a 1 p.m. visit to Drexel. The Stags and Dragons both enter the weekend at 1-1 in league action.
 
Fairfield University Stags (4-5, 1-1 CAA)
  • In their most recent action, the Stags slipped to 4-5 overall and 1-1 in the CAA with a 12-10 loss to Towson at a rain-soaked Rafferty Stadium.
  • The swarming Fairfield defense currently leads the CAA and ranks fourth nationally with 10.67 caused turnovers per game. Individually, Julian Radossich is seventh in Division I with a CAA-best 2.11 caused turnovers per contest.
  • The Stags also own the conference's best clearing percentage at .910, good for sixth in the nation.
  • Bryce Ford continues to pace the attack with 3.11 points per game, while Jake Gilbert and Will Consoli add 2.89 and 2.78 points per outing, respectively, from the midfield.
 
Drexel University Dragons (4-5, 1-1 CAA)
  • A two-game week for Drexel featured a 14-4 loss at #3 Virginia on Saturday followed by a 16-5 bounce back win at Hampton on Monday.
  • The Dragons have also hosted and lost to Towson, falling by a 16-11 score on March 16.
  • Drexel's balanced scoring is led by 20 points from Conor Hooley. Twelve Dragons have scored two or more goals, and 23 in total have at least one point on the ledger.
  • Goalkeeper Drew McGill leads the CAA with 12.44 saves per game en route to a .546 save percentage that ranks second in the conference and 18th in the nation.

  • Drexel has won the last six meetings to build a 9-2 lead in the all-time series.
  • Since the Stags joined the CAA in 2015, five of the eight encounters have been a one-goal game in the fourth quarter.
