Stags at Quinnipiac Tabbed for MAAC Wildcard Game on Friday, Feb. 23 on ESPNU

Tip-off from Hamden is slated for 9 PM

EDISON, N.J. – The Feb. 23 matchup between the two top teams in the current Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference standings will air before a national television audience when Fairfield University Men's Basketball travels to Hamden to challenge Quinnipiac on ESPNU. Opening tip-off in the "MAAC Wildcard" game is slated for 9 p.m.

Next Friday's contest will be the rematch between the Stags and Bobcats following the Jan. 28 nail biter at Mahoney Arena that featured seven ties and 13 lead changes with Quinnipiac escaping with a 66-64 final. Currently, the Bobcats lead the MAAC at 11-2 as a part of a 19-5 overall record, while Fairfield owns sole possession of second place at 9-4 in the conference and 15-9 overall.

The Feb. 23 game will mark the fifth consecutive season that the Stags will play at least one game on ESPNU. Last season, Fairfield's MAAC games at Quinnipiac and Rider were both picked up as a part of the MAAC Wildcard slate.

Before the showdown in Hamden, Fairfield Men's Basketball will host a pair of MAAC outings at Leo D. Mahoney Arena this weekend. The Stags welcome Niagara to campus on Friday, Feb. 16 and kickoff the season series with Mount St. Mary's on Sunday, Feb. 18.

Tickets for all remaining home games are on sale now at FairfieldStags.com/TIX.
