FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Soccer team will look for their 10th win of the season when they hit the road to take on the Manhattan Jaspers on Saturday afternoon at 3:30pm. With a win, the Stags will reach double-digits in wins for the third time under Head Coach
David Barrett.
The Stags are coming off their fourth conference win of the year as they outlasted Saint Peter's for a 3-1 win at Lessing Field, their 10th-straight home win.
Maddy Theriault,
Emilie Cook, and
Reagan Klarmann all touched net for the Stags while
Elle Scott,
Ashlyn Walsh, and
Caroline Kelly all recorded assists for the squad.
The three goals improve the league's best offense which leads the MAAC with: 33 goals, 26 assists, and 92 total points.
The Stags also lead the league with 20.9 shots per game and 9.6 shots on goal per game, both ranking in the top-10 in the nation.
With her team-leading sixth goal of the season, Theriault now ranks third in the MAAC and ties Scott for the most goals among active Stags with 24. The duo are both one goal away from entering the top-10 in program history.
Manhattan enters play with a 5-3-2 overall record and a 1-1-2 mark in the conference. The Jaspers hold one of the best defenses in the league with goalkeeper Molly Brunk holding a 0.70 goals against average and an .811 save percentage.
Fairfield will next return home to face the newest member of the MAAC Merrimack on Wednesday night at 7pm.
