HANOVER, N.H. – Calum Jessett's tiebreak win over Lukas Rais of Boston College highlighted Day 1 action for Fairfield University Men's Tennis at the Dartmouth Invite in Hanover, N.H.
Jessett and Rais split the opening two sets – 6-2, 2-6 – before the Stags' sophomore claimed a tiebreaker, 10-7, to earn the victory.
Alex Aguiar and
Zach Whittington fell in straight sets to opponents from BC, while
Domagoj Stabek was edged in a marathon match by the Eagles' Liam O'Leary – 6-7 (1), 7-6 (4), 1-0 (10-1).
In other Friday action,
Luca Benaibbouche,
Kostas Kollias and
Kacper Krolikowski were clipped by opponents from the host Big Green, and
Sam Hodges was bested by Daniils Snaiders of Buffalo.
The Stags return to the courts in the Granite State on Saturday.
