FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Soccer team will return to the friendly confines of Lessing Field when they host the Saint Peter's Peacocks on Wednesday night at 7pm. Fairfield enters the game in second place in the MAAC standings with 10 points and are coming off their first draw of the season at Siena.
The Stags return to their home pitch for the first time in two weeks after back-to-back road matches. The Stags currently are riding a nine-match home winning streak which is the third longest in the nation behind Memphis (16) and Montana (12).
Fairfield has seen this success with a league-leading offense with 30 goals, 23 assists, and 93 total points.
Elle Scott was the lone Stag to score in their most recent 1-1 draw at Siena as she pushed past a rebound from
Alex Darcy.
The Stags also lead the league with 20.7 shots per game and 9.9 shots on goal per game, both ranking in the top-10 in the nation.
Saint Peter's enters with an 0-4 record in the MAAC and a 3-6 mark overall. Gianna Grassifulli and Joana Dias are tied for the team lead with three goals while Lula Mansilla Medina paces the squad with seven assists.
Fairfield will next travel to Manhattan to face the Jaspers on Saturday at 3:30pm
